PLANTING THE FOOD GARDEN AT URBAN DOVE CHARTER SCHOOL (BK) - PART 1

We finished building and filling all the food planters urbandoveny. Students then moved onto planting them with a variety of veggies, herbs, and pollinator flowers. There is excitement about what the garden will produce this season. 🌿🤸🏾‍♂️🍓🫑🍅🥬

It's been a long process to get to this point, but we are all happy to see it flourish into happy gardens. The last video and image are of the main ground green space that we transformed and evolved from having just a few species, to having over 2 dozen species growing there now. IT'S LOOKING BEAUTIFUL!🌿🌺🤩💗🌼

Shout out to all the students who have taken time to come and help in the gardens and tree pits. We had over 2 dozen different students participate over the last 6 months, with many of them being consistent participants each week. Also thanks to grownyc bigreuse and nyc_oer for helping us acquire the compost, soil, and plants we needed.🌿😎💯🌿

The next phase involves building vertical supports and systems to allow plants to grow vertically and allow us to grow more efficiently. Part 2 will show the opening event for the gardens at Urban Dove Brooklyn Team Charter School.🌿💗🌿
