About TWC

Meet The Wild Center, an innovative museum and environmental education center that’s helping humans and nature coexist.
LEARN MORE

People and the natural world can thrive—together.

At The Wild Center, we believe that science can help us build a world where humans and nature can thrive—and that includes tackling the challenges of climate change. We invite you to learn more about our museum and make plans to visit us in-person.

Our Mission

Our mission is to ignite an enduring passion for the Adirondacks where people and nature can thrive together and offer an example for the world.

Our Campus

Located on 115 pristine acres that border the Raquette River oxbow, visitors can walk woodland trails, head to the river to canoe with a guide, explore Wild Walk, or discover the magic of the Pines Play Area, a wild playground in the forest where children can connect to their inner Huck Finn.

Indoors, there's 54,000 square feet of exhibits, panoramic movie theater, Planet Adirondack, not to mention a myriad fish, turtles, otters and other animal and plant species.

The Wild Center is also the first LEED-certified museum in New York. Learn more about how the Center is a demonstration of green building design.
